Sometimes I think I've lost a lot of time, though I don't regret anything that I've done. A very interesting statement, 'One who makes no mistakes, doesn't know a pleasure of making up for them', has made me realise I can't waste the rest of my time and I will surely make up for my mistakes.

Jolanta Kowal, born in Varmia and Mazurie, has lived in Ruszow since 1986. A graduate of arts faculty at University of Zielona Gora (2003). A diploma at full professor Stanislaw Kortyka's studio (The Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw). Diploma theme: 'Shrouds of everyday life'. The main theme for paintings is nature. Ruszow, as the center of Lower Silesian forests is a great subject to paint. Interpretation of nature which goes beyonds abstraction barriers chandges way of thinking and way of presenting it. Misticism of nature, clearly visible in drawings, is realistic way presenting a small piece of reality, which the shed light brings almost a mistic secret out of it. Colour, being the domainating part of paintings is meant to emphasise expression, not aggression. Jolanta Kowal has had her own exhibitions, her paintings were displayed on collective exhibitions:

2004-Ha Kommune (Norway), Gozdnica (Poland)
2005-Jelenia Gora (Poland)
